A valuation report generally explains the subject business or ownership interest, the purpose of the engagement, relevant financial and operational information, analytical considerations, and the resulting value conclusion. The appropriate report scope depends on whether the work supports a transaction, tax filing, ESOP, estate, gift, judicial matter, or another defined purpose.
